These musicians are not only extraordinary but they can give an amazing performance check them out. Also this is a great example of music to listen vs music to dance. Piazzola is the type of music that will make you want to express your self through dance for its depth and powerful sound.

But in most traditional milongas DJ’s will not play his music. This is because it is also very complex making it difficult to follow with dance. This is because Piazzolla did not want to play only for dancers he wanted to branch out of this generalization that was happening in the golden age of tango and make a new sound.

Tango Lounge

This Picture was taken at Tango Lounge a New York City milonga every Friday. Tango Lounge is hosted by Tine Herreman, a great organizer, person, and DJ. The milonga takes place in Dance Sport, and although it is a dance studio it dose not feel like a studio when you are there to have fun in a milonga. What gives the space a lounge feeling is the full bar, small tables and semi dark lighting. By far this is one of my favorite floors to dance in. It is completely level, smooth and sprung. The DJ like I said before is great. Tine has the sensitivity to influence the milonga with changes of orchestras that are very different one from the other yet keeping the feeling that the previous tanda had making a smooth transition.
